In 2000, Chevrolet introduced the ninth generation of the Suburban 1500. The half-ton 1500 series saw the previous V8 engines switched up to the Vortec 5300 V8, providing 285 horsepower and 325 foot pounds of torque.
The Suburban 1500 was available in two and four-wheel drive, and later models featured the StabiliTrak stability control system. From 2004, Hydroboost brakes provided greater power assist and touch screen navigation was introduced from 2005.
The servicing routine includes weekly fluid level checks, six-monthly tire rotation, and spark plug replacement every 30 months.
