Why you should maintain your car or van

Maintaining and repairing your car, van or truck may seem daunting, especially if you've never done it before, but we can promise you that it really isn't that hard. And on top of that, there are plenty of reasons why you can - and should - become a home mechanic.

Knowledge, as they say, is power. So, the more you know about your car’s inner workings, the better off you’ll be in the long run. Think about it: if there’s a job that needs doing around the house, you’ll learn how to do it. So why should your car be any different?

In fact, we really have to drive home the fact that cars aren’t something to be feared. If they were, we wouldn’t make so many helpful manuals

If you let the fear of working on your car get in the way, you’re going to lose out. Not only because you’re not educating yourself, but also because you won’t be saving money.

It’ll save you money!

Garages charge labour rates. They have to, or there would be little point in them being there in the first place. So, you'll incur them on any job you get the garage to carry out on your vehicle. But that's the thing – you don’t need to go to a garage for every little job.

Why not find out what's entailed in the task, get your tools out and have a go? You’ll save a lot of money. The tutorials below are designed to get you acquainted with your vehicle and feel more confident in taking an active part in its service and repair.

There’s literally nothing stopping you, unless you lose your reading glasses of course. We take every car down to its component parts and then put it all back together again. Let us impart that knowledge upon you, it’s what we do!

To help you along on your journey, we’ve created the course above, which is designed to inspire your inner DIY-er, whether you are a seasoned hand under the bonnet or a complete novice.
