The 1972 Jeep Wagoneer was subject to a number of improvements following the brand’s takeover by AMC. The changes were aimed at making it quieter and smoother to live with. The company also replaced its old 350ci Buick V8 with its own 360ci version. Come 1973, the option of full-time four-wheel drive was introduced, to make living with the car easier. Gradually, the Wagoneer moved upmarket, and gained luxury appointments such as power brakes and air-conditioning as well as the name Grand Wagoneer. By the mid-1980s it was a seriously luxurious way to travel, with leather trim, climate control and improved handling. At Haynes, we have Jeep repair manuals and online maintenance procedures to suit professional mechanics and DIY car enthusiasts alike. Our Jeep Wagoneer manual will be able to help whether you're servicing or repairing your car.
