About

The Volkswagen Rabbit was launched in 1974 as a long-overdue front-wheel-drive replacement for the Volkswagen Beetle. Initially, engines ranged from a gasoline 1.1-liter four-cylinder up to a 74hp 1.6, although the subsequent GTI model had a 108hp 1.6 fitted. The car continued largely unaltered until a facelift in 1980 that gave it larger tail lights, black plastic bumpers and rectangular headlights. Haynes has an extensive range of Volkswagen repair manuals and online maintenance procedures available for professional mechanics and DIY car enthusiasts. The Haynes VW Rabbit repair manual is here to help you through every stage of servicing or fixing your car.
