The Audi A3 is a luxury hatchback that spans three generations, from 1996 to the present day. Early models were three-door-only, but second- and third-generation versions were available with five doors as well. Engines range from 1.6 and 2.0 litre petrol engines, and also 1.6, 1.9 and 2.0 litre diesel engines, with SOHC 8v or DOHC 16v cylinder heads.
