Do not change a wheel in a situation where you risk being hit by other traffic. On busy roads, try to stop in a lay-by or a gateway. Be wary of passing traffic while changing the wheel – it is easy to become distracted by the job in hand.
Changing the wheel
The spare wheel and jack are stored under the rear of the vehicle. Open the tailgate and lift up the plastic cover to access the spare wheel securing bolt
The rest of the tools are kept in a plastic box in the luggage compartment, or under the drivers seat.
Insert the tool through the access hole and slacken the spare wheel securing bolt
Lower the spare wheel and jack from under the rear of the vehicle
Open the plastic cover and remove the jack from the centre of the spare wheel
Where fitted remove the wheel trim/hub cap from the wheel. On models where anti-theft wheel bolts are fitted, pull off the plastic cover using the plastic tool in the tool kit, then unscrew the anti-theft bolt using the special tool provided.

Using the wheelbrace, slacken each wheel bolt by half a turn.
Make sure the jack is located on firm ground, and engage the jack head correctly with the reinforced area on the sill (indicated by a triangle). Then raise the jack until the wheel is raised clear of the ground.
Unscrew the wheel bolts and remove the wheel, then place the wheel under the vehicle sill in case the jack fails.
Fit the spare wheel and screw in the bolts. Lightly tighten the bolts with the wheelbrace then lower the car to the ground.
Securely tighten the wheel bolts in a diagonal sequence then refit the wheel trim/hub cap/wheel bolt covers (as applicable).
