Drivebelt check

1 A single auxiliary drivebelt is fitted at the right-hand side of the engine. The length of the drivebelt varies according to whether air conditioning is fitted. On most models, an automatic adjuster is fitted, so checking the drivebelt tension is unnecessary. On models where no tensioner is fitted, the belt is of a new ‘ elastic’ type, and the belt tension is self-setting.
