General location of the oil filter cartridge

First, remove the protective shield

You will need to remove the air make-up chamber. Release the clamp on the air duct. Use a Phillips or a 7mm socket to do this

Separate the air duct from the chamber

Now carefully remove the air make-up chamber

Locate the oil filter cartridge - here it is

Using a 27mm socket, fit the tool securely onto the oil filter housing. ALWAYS use the correct tool for this job. Any other tool will damage the oil filter housing

Try to keep the air duct away from the oil filter cartridge during removal

Loosen the oil filter housing by unscrewing anti clockwise. Remove by hand. Old oil will be released so have a tray handy. Remove filter, clean area and replace filter. Fit any sealing rings supplied with the replacement filter

Now you can reinstate the air chamber and the protective shield

You are now ready to refill the engine with fresh oil. Unscrew the oil filler cap

Always using a funnel, pour half in first. Wait a minute for the oil to go to the sump, now add smaller amounts. DO NOT OVERFILL

Keep checking the dipstick level, the final level should read just below the MAX position on the dipstick

The MAX-MIN dipstick positions

Always replace the dipstick and oil filler cap. Now start the engine and idle for a minute or so. Switch off and check for any leaks, finally recheck the oil level again on the dipstick
