Non-turbo models

1 The air filter is located in front of the battery in the left-hand front corner of the engine compartment, viewed from the driver's seat. First, remove the engine top cover
2 Air cleaner location on the 2.0-litre engine
3a Undo the screws and remove the lid from the air filter box...
3b ...undo this screw...
3c ...slide out the clamp...
3d ...and remove the filter element
4 Remove any debris that may have collected inside the air filter housing
5 Fit a new air filter element in position, ensuring that the edges are securely seated
6 Refit the clamp and lid, tightening the screws securely, then refit the engine top cover

Turbo models

1 The air cleaner is located in the left-hand front corner of the engine compartment, as viewed from the driver's seat
2 Undo the screws and lift the air filter housing lid, complete with air mass meter, 10 to 15 cm from the base. Take care not to strain the air mass meter wiring and air duct
3 Lift out the air filter element, noting how it is fitted
4 Remove any debris that may have collected inside the air filter housing
5 Fit a new air filter element in position, ensuring that the edges are securely seated
6 Refit the lid and tighten the screws, then refit the engine top cover
