Volkswagen Polo 2009 - 2014  | 1.2 TDi Air filter change

1 The air filter is housed in the air cleaner, which is situated on the left-hand side of the inner wing, behind the battery.
2 Undo the six retaining screws and lift the cover from the top of the air cleaner body (see illustration) .

3 If required, disconnect the wiring connector from the air mass meter, then release the retaining clip and disconnect the air intake hose from the upper cover (see illustration).

4 Release the air filter element from the upper cover.
5 Remove any debris that may have collected inside the air cleaner housing. Make sure the O-ring is in position in the lower part of the housing (see illustration) , before refitting the new filter element.
Make sure the O-ring seal is fitted correctly
6 Fit a new air filter element in position, ensuring that it is located correctly.
7 Refit the air cleaner upper cover and secure in position with the six retaining screws.
