In July 2002 the Cooper S models was introduced, fitted with a supercharged version of the same engine. In June 2003 a 1.4-litre diesel model was added. In the Spring of 2004, the convertible MINI was launched. All models have fully-independent front and rear suspension, with anti-roll bars fitted both to the front and rear assemblies. All models are well equipped, with central locking, electric windows, air-conditioning, an electric sunroof, a dynamic stability control system, and numerous airbags.
