The ‘Mk2’ Mini was introduced in petrol hatchback form in August 2006. A diesel model (powered by a PSA engine) was introduced in March 2007, but this was replaced by a BMW diesel engine in August 2010. The hatchback model range was joined by the Clubman (Estate) version in August 2007, and the Convertible in December 2008 (the ‘Mk1’ Convertible model remained in production until this date). Over the years, the range was improved with minor cosmetic/mechanical revisions and variants, and a wide range of standard and optional equipment was available, including central locking, electric windows, and air-conditioning.
