About

The Skoda Octavia Mk2 was introduced in 2004 as a 5-door hatchback and a 5-door estate. Here, we focus on the 1.9- and 2.0-litre turbodiesels. Until 2008, all diesel engines were equipped with unit injectors. From 2009, a 2.0-litre DOHC 16v engine was available with conventional common-rail fuel injection. Fully independent front and rear suspension was fitted, with the components attached to a subframe. A five- or six-speed manual gearbox was fitted as standard to all models, with a six-speed DSG (Direct Shift Gearbox) automatic transmission available as an option on most 2.0-litre models. A wide range of standard and optional equipment was available, including anti-lock brakes and air-conditioning. For the home mechanic, the Octavia is quite straightforward to maintain, and most of the items requiring frequent attention are easy to get at. At Haynes, we have an extensive range of Skoda repair manuals and online maintenance procedures available for professional mechanics and DIY car enthusiasts. Our Skoda Octavia repair manual is perfect for guiding you through each procedure while servicing or repairing your car.
