Undo the retaining screws from around the top of the air cleaner cover
(see illustration)

Undo the retaining screws – 1.8 litre engine

Lift the cover from the air cleaner, and then withdraw the element, noting how it is fitted
(see illustration)

Wipe clean the interior surfaces of the cover and main body, using a dampened cloth.

Locate the new element in the main body, making sure it is seated correctly, then refit the cover and secure with the retaining screws.
