Best Repair on a Daily Driver 2020

The Haynes Repair Show 2020

The winner of Best Repair on a Daily Driver for 2020 is Justin Rank.

He said: "I live in Denver and I am going to school in Phoenix Arizona in the autumn. I needed a way to get down there and the only car available to me was a 1992 Toyota Camry V6 with 172,100 miles. I bought the Haynes repair manual for this car (book version) and my friend and I got to work. We used the manual to replace the rear valve cover gasket, spark plugs and spark plug wires. It was a great help having a step by step guide along with all the torque specs. After that we used the manual to replace the brake pads and rotors, engine coolant, transmission fluid, fuel filter and power steering fluid.

"The Haynes manual was great with helping us choose the right fluids for the car and making sure we did the job right. I also used the repair manual to learn how to disassemble part of the dash to replace the clock and fix the rear window along with changing out some light bulbs. The car drives great now! Smooth and ready to take on Arizona. Without the Haynes Manual I would’ve never been able to have done all the work that we did. Thank you Haynes!"

Justin wins a car jump starter and power pack.

Runners-up were: Travis Donner with his wife's Toyota, Steve Gillon with a Peugeot 407 Coupe and Thomas Stell-Ortiz with a GMC Yukon Denali XL.
