Do you need to replace a headlight bulb on your 2007 to 2014 Mercedes C Class but don't know where to start? This video tutorial shows you step-by-step how to do it!

The video was filmed in our workshop where we strip down and rebuild every car when producing our best-selling car repair manuals. Our 2007 to 2014 Mercedes C Class manual covers diesel engine 07 to 63 reg vehicles.

You can get it in the traditional printed book, or you can get the online manual version which comes with 20 more videos just like this one! You can find both versions of the manual here

Changing the Bi-Xenon High-intensity discharge bulb

Caution: Bi-Xenon bulbs are pressurised to approximately 22 bar. Take extreme care when handling these bulbs - wear safety glasses and gloves

  1. Due to the high-voltages required to produce the electric arc between the bulb's electrodes, disconnect the battery, then wait at least 10 minutes for any residual electrical energy to dissipate
  2. Rotate the cover behind the dipped beam location anti-clockwise and remove it
  3. Squeeze together the ends of the retaining clip and fold it upwards
  4. Carefully withdraw the ignition unit/bulb from the reflector
  5. Disconnect the wiring plug from the ignition unit
  6. Refitting is the reverse of removal. If a new unit/bulb has been fitted, the systems operating counter must be reset to zero using Mercedes STAR diagnostic equipment (or equivalent). Entrust this task to a Mercedes dealer or suitably equipped specialist
