The Yamaha XT660 appeared in 2004 using a new four-valve, fuel-injected motor. A Z-model Ténéré followed in 2009 with big tank, long-travel suspension and the capability of dealing with gentle off-road going – a proper adventure tourer. A lowered XT, running proper road tyres and 17-inch wheels was a brilliant city and back-roads bike. The R looks like a trail bike but is really a slightly cheaper and slightly less radical version of the X. Come 2006, Yamaha put the new XT motor in a thoroughly modern roadster called the MT-03. At Haynes, we have an extensive range of Yamaha repair manuals and online maintenance procedures available for professional mechanics and DIY car enthusiasts. Our Yamaha repair manuals are here to help you through every stage of servicing or fixing your motorcycle.
