The second- and third-generation Acura TL were four-door sedans derived from the sixth- and seventh-generation Honda Accord. The second-generation car was built from 1998-2003 and was offered with a five-speed Sportshift automatic transmission that became notorious for suffering failures. The third-gen car was built from 2004-2008, and had no such issue. It was also the first car in the US market to have a six-disc DVD-Audio system, which was also linked to a hands-free Bluetooth system. This model was also offered as a hotter A-Spec version with stiffer suspension and a bodykit. All models are fitted with ant-lock brakes. At Haynes, we have an extensive range of Acura repair manuals and online maintenance procedures available for professional mechanics and DIY car enthusiasts. Our Acura TL repair manuals are here to help you through every stage of servicing or fixing your car.
