About
The BMW New Class family was introduced in 1962-77. It was the series that set BMW on the road to becoming a global motoring force, and it also established the ‘Hofmeister Kink’ styling touch at the rear roof pillar that has featured on most BMWs since. Under the hood lay a 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine, which then became a 1.6-liter unit in the 1600, and a 2.0-liter motor in the 2000. The New Class was available as either a four-door sedan or as a two-door coupe. It received critical acclaim the world over, and was a huge success. At Haynes, we have an extensive range of BMW repair manuals and online maintenance procedures available for professional mechanics and DIY car enthusiasts. Our BMW New Class repair manual is here to help you through every stage of servicing or fixing your car.
