About

This fifth generation of the big-selling BMW 3 Series was available as a four-door sedan, a two-door coupe, a two-door convertible and a five-door estate. It was offered with BMW’s traditional rear-wheel-drive set-up, and with four-wheel drive. It heralded two ‘firsts’ for the 3 Series range: notably the introduction of turbocharged gasoline power in the high-performance 335i model, and also the introduction of run-flat tyres. The fitment of these tyres allowed the company to do away with the spare wheel, although many people decried their affect on the car’s ride quality and so changed run-flats for conventional tyres whenever they could. At Haynes, we have an extensive range of BMW repair manuals and online maintenance procedures available for professional mechanics and DIY car enthusiasts. Our BMW 3 Series repair manual is here to help you through every stage of servicing or fixing your car.
