Buick LaCrosse 2010 - 2013  | 3.6 V6 Air filter change

1 At the specified intervals, the air filter element should be replaced with a new one
2 The air filter is housed in a black plastic box mounted on the left side of the engine compartment (2009 and earlier models) or the right side of the engine compartment 2010 and later models)
3 Detach the PCV quick-disconnect fitting, if equipped (see below)
4 PCV quick-disconnect fitting (A) and MAF/IAT electrical connector (B) - 2.4L engine shown
5 Disconnect the electrical connector from the Mass Air Flow/Intake Air Temperature (MAF/IAT) sensor
6 Lift up the engine cover, if equipped, until the cover grommets are free of the ballstuds, and remove the cover
Note: Some models may have fasteners mounted on top of the cover instead of hidden ballstuds
7 Loosen the clamps on the air inlet duct and disconnect the duct from the air filter housing cover
Note: On some models it is possible to lift the cover up enough to remove the filter without disconnecting the inlet duct
8 On 2009 and earlier models, release the spring clamps around the perimeter of the air filter cover then lift the cover up and remove the filter (see below)
9 Air filter housing details (2009 and earlier models; V8 engine shown): 1 Intake duct hose clamp. 2 MAF electrical connector. 3 Clamps
10 On 2010 and later models, remove the screws around the perimeter of the cover (see below)
11 Remove the cover screws
12 Pull up the housing cover, then lift the air filter element out of the housing. Wipe out the inside of the air filter housing with a clean rag
13 Installation is the reverse of removal
