Dodge Dakota 1997 - 2004  | 4.7 V8 Air filter change

1 The air filter element should be replaced with a new one at the specified intervals
2 On all models, the air filter is housed in a black plastic box mounted on the inner fenderwell on the right side of the engine compartment
3 Detach the spring clips and pull the housing cover up, then lift the air filter element out of the housing (see below). Wipe out the inside of the air filter housing with a clean rag
4a Release the three spring clips (arrows) and lift the air filter housing cover
4b The cover slips out of slots on the housing to allow room for replacement of the filter
5 While the cover is off, be careful not to drop anything down into the air filter housing
6 Place the new filter element in the air filter housing. Make sure it seats properly in the groove of the housing
7 Installation is the reverse of removal
