1 To replace the alternator belt on V6 models, place the appropriate-size long handled wrench on the center bolt of the tensioner pulley, rotate the tensioner counterclockwise and remove the belt. On all other models, follow the above adjustment procedures to loosen the belt, slip the belt off the pulleys and remove it. Since belts tend to wear out more or less at the same time, it’s a good idea to replace all of them at the same time. Mark each belt and the corresponding pulley grooves so the replacement belts can be installed properly. Models with a number of accessories driven by the same serpentine belt usually have a belt-routing diagram on a decal in the engine compartment or on the underside of the hood
