The Chevrolet S10 broke new ground when it was launched because it was the first compact pickup truck produced by one of North America’s main automakers. It was soon joined by its sister truck, the GMC S15 (later called the GMC Sonoma). Power came from a 1.9-liter four-cylinder Isuzu engine, although buyers also had the option of a 2.8-liter V6. In 1983, four-wheel drive was added, as was an extended-cab model, plus 2.0-liter and 2.2-liter engines. The trucks also spawned the Chevrolet Blazer and GMC Jimmy SUVs. A 4.3-liter V6 appeared in 1988, as did anti-lock brakes. At Haynes, we have an extensive range of Chevrolet repair manuals and online maintenance procedures available for professional mechanics and DIY car enthusiasts. Our Chevrolet S10 repair manual is here to help you through every stage of servicing or fixing your car.
