About

The Kia Optima four-door sedan was launched in 2000 as a rebadged Hyundai Sonata. It had a 2.5-liter V6 engine, although this became a 2.7 a year later. It was luxuriously appointed, with leather trim and alloy wheels fitted, and continued largely unchanged until 2005, when the second-generation car was launched. This version had a Kia platform as its basis, and the engine range kicked off with a 2.4-liter four-cylinder. The Optima was given a facelift in 2008, as part of which it actually became 70mm longer, and was given more luxury equipment. In 2010, the Optima was given a keyless entry and start-up system. At Haynes, we have an extensive range of Kia repair manuals and online maintenance procedures available for professional mechanics and DIY car enthusiasts. Our Kia Optima repair manual is here to help you through every stage of servicing or fixing your car.
