The fourth-generation Oldsmobile Toronado would prove to be the name’s swansong. As with its sister cars, the Buick Riviera, Cadillac De Ville, Cadillac Eldorado and Cadillac Seville, it was much smaller than its predecessors, and for the first time there was no V8 engine available in the Toronado. This combination of factors proved to be catastrophic for sales, and even the addition of the high-performance Trofeo model couldn’t arrest the slide. Equipment was enhanced throughout the car’s life, and then it was given a huge redesign in 1990, as part of which it was made almost 12 inches longer. Sales were still slow. At Haynes, we have an extensive range of Oldsmobile repair manuals and online maintenance procedures available for professional mechanics and DIY car enthusiasts. Our Oldsmobile Toronado repair manual is here to help you through every stage of servicing or fixing your car.
