The Buick Century name was used on and off from 1936, and was first used to denote a Buick that could do 100mph. In 1982, the fifth-generation Buick Century was launched, and was smaller than its predecessor. It was available as a two-door coupe, four-door sedan and five-door station wagon. There was a comprehensive range of engines, starting with a 2.2-liter four-cylinder, extending through a 3.0-liter V6 and topping out with a 3.8 V6. There was also a 4.3-liter V6 diesel. Transmissions were all automatic, with three or four speeds. A 1989 facelift softened the looks, and tweaks thereafter were minor. Haynes has an extensive range of Buick repair manuals and online maintenance procedures to suit professional mechanics and DIY car enthusiasts. Our Buick Century repair manual will be able to help whether you're servicing or repairing your car.
