The Subaru 1600 and 1800 were collectively known as the Leone. The second-generation Leone was launched in 1979. Under the hood it had either a 1.6-liter flat four engine, a 1.8-liter flat four, or a turbocharged 1.8 flat four. Throughout its life it was available with four- and five-speed manual gearboxes or a three-speed automatic, all of which were linked to a four-wheel-drive system. The Leone was available as a four-door sedan, five-door hatchback, three-door hatchback, two-door coupe , five-door station wagon and two-door pick-up, which was also known as the Brat. At Haynes, we have an extensive range of Subaru repair manuals and online maintenance procedures available for professional mechanics and DIY car enthusiasts. Our Subaru Leone repair manual is here to help you through every stage of servicing or fixing your car.
