Bike World
Scrap To Race Track In 24 Hours | Write-Off Rebuilt SV650 To Race Bike
We’ve featured a 'Write-Off Rebuild' from Bike World before (the BMW S1000 RR), and this time it's a written-off Suzuki SV650. The only difference here is that there's a 24-hour target to make it race-track-ready. Can it be repaired in time?
This is an awesome video, and Chris's passion and optimism is contagious, even when things don't quite go to plan.
Car Wizard
Why Won’t This Fabulously Funky Fuego Start?
Do you remember the slickly styled Renault Fuego coupe from the early eighties? It might have looked interesting but didn’t have much power, even with a turbo under the hood, so wasn't a car for keen drivers.
As well as being sold here and in Europe, the Fuego (Spanish for fire) was also available in Australia and New Zealand, and the Car Wizard has one in his workshop. This one's in pretty good condition for its age but someone made the mistake of not purging the fuel system before they stored it. The Wizard also shares some tips on diagnosing engine issues with your ears.
Indecisive Auto
£500 Volvo XC90 Project
While we're on the subject of blasts from the past, you may be surprised to know that the Volvo XC90 has been around since 2002. In the UK at least, the earliest examples have lost almost all of their value, and some can be had for not much more than $600.
But you wouldn't take that gamble, would you? Not on one that's got an appointment with a scrapyard. Indecisive Auto has. In this first video of a series, he gives us a walk-round to identify what needs to be fixed and what's good (those new tyres, for instance).
