Checking Tire Condition Dodge Ram 1500 2002 - 2008 | Haynes Manuals

Dodge Ram 1500

2002 - 2008
Time
10 minutes
Difficulty
Tire center wear is caused by overinflation
Tire shoulder wear is caused by underinflation, incorrect wheel camber (worn suspension parts), or hard cornering
Wear on one side is caused by suspension misalignment
Tread wear can be monitored with an inexpensive device known as a tread depth indicator gauge
The original tires have tread wear safety bands (B), which will appear when the tread depth reaches approximately 1.6 mm. The band positions are indicated by a triangular mark on the tire sidewall (A)
