Checking Tire Condition Mercedes-Benz C-Class 2004 - 2007 | Haynes Manuals

Mercedes-Benz C-Class

2004 - 2007
Time
10 minutes
Difficulty
The original tyres have tread wear safety bands (B), which will appear when the tread depth reaches approximately 1.6 mm. The band positions are indicated by a triangular mark on the tyre sidewall (A)
Alternatively, tread wear can be monitored with an inexpensive device known as a tread depth indicator gauge
Tyre shoulder wear is caused by underinflation, incorrect wheel camber (worn suspension parts), or hard cornering
Tyre centre wear is caused by overinflation
Uneven tyre wear is caused by unbalanced wheels, worn/broken suspension parts, or incorrect wheel alignment
