The Toyota MR2 was a small mid-engined sports coupe that was introduced in 1984. Under the hood lay a 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine, then in 1986 supercharged version of the same engine was introduced into the United States marketplace. These engines drove the rear wheels of the MR2 through a five-speed manual gearbox or a four-speed automatic transmission. The car handled superbly, thanks to engineering work from British sports car brand Lotus, and so sold well. In 1986, a T-bar version that featured removable roof panels was introduced. At Haynes, we have an extensive range of Toyota repair manuals and online maintenance procedures available for professional mechanics and DIY car enthusiasts. Our Toyota MR2 repair manual is here to help you through every stage of servicing or fixing your car.
