The Toyota Solara is based on the same underpinnings as the Lexus ES300 and Toyota Camry and Toyota Avalon, albeit with slightly different styling, some model-specific engines, and different amounts of standard equipment. Engines ranged from a 2.2-liter inline four-cylinder all the way up to a 3.0-liter V6 with variable valve timing. The Solara was well equipped, if not quite as sumptuous as its Lexus sister car. Crash test results for the car were positive, with the sister Toyota Avalon being rated as “Good” in all six measured areas. At Haynes, we have an extensive range of Toyota repair manuals and online maintenance procedures available for professional mechanics and DIY car enthusiasts. Our Toyota Solara repair manual is here to help you through every stage of servicing or fixing your car.
