About

The Dodge Dakota was a mid-sized pickup truck that was launched in 1987. Under the hood lay a selection of engines ranging from a 2.2-liter four-cylinder up to a 5.2-liter V8. The Dakota was two-wheel drive as standard, although buyers could have four-wheel drive if they went for the 3.9-liter V6 model. A Club Cab model appeared in 1990 with the ability to carry six people. The following year a facelift comprised a new hood and grille, which allowed Dodge to fit a 170hp 5.2-liter V8 engine. Further tweaks over subsequent years concerned the headlights and the fitment of extra safety equipment. The first-generation Dodge Dakota was deleted in 1996. Haynes has an extensive range of Dodge repair manuals and online maintenance procedures to suit professional mechanics and DIY car enthusiasts. Our Dodge Dakota repair manual will be able to help whether you're servicing or repairing your car.
