About

The second-generation North America Ford Escort appeared in 1991, and was a sister car to the Kia Sephia, Mazda 323, and Mercury Tracer. It was powered by an 88hp 1.9-liter Ford-designed four-cylinder engine, although some higher-spec models were fitted with a Mazda-designed 127hp 1.8-liter four-cylinder. Between 1993 and 1995, the Escort was offered at one price, no matter whether buyers wanted a 3-door, 5-door, sedan or station wagon. In 1997, the third-generation Escort appeared, this time as only a four-door sedan or five-door station wagon, and powered by a 2,.0-liter four-cylinder engine. This version of the Escort continued until 2002. At Haynes, we have an extensive range of Ford repair manuals and online maintenance procedures available for professional mechanics and DIY car enthusiasts. Our Ford Escort repair manual is here to help you through every stage of servicing or fixing your car.
