About

"The Saturn Ion was built to replace the Saturn S Series in 2002, and continued until 2007, when it was itself killed off. It was powered mainly by a 2.2-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine. In addition to the sedan, there was a Quad Coupe which had rear-hinged rear doors, also known as “suicide doors”. The car had a five-speed manual transmission as standard, with a five-speed automatic as an option. In 2005 a new four-speed automatic gearbox was fitted in place of the problematic five-speeder. In 2007 a new 2.2-liter engine was fitted in addition to the 2.4. The Ion was killed off in 2007. Haynes has Saturn repair manuals and online maintenance procedures to suit your needs whether you’re a professional mechanic or a DIY car enthusiast. Our Saturn Ion manual will be the ideal guide through every stage of servicing or repairing your car.
