In 1912 William Morris was involved in selling and repairing vehicles under the name WRM Motors Ltd. However, he had bigger ambitions, so bought a factory at Cowley in Oxford in 1913 and immediately started building cars using largely bought-in components. This business became Morris, which grew to become Britain’s biggest car manufacturer in 1924. In 1948, the company released the Morris Minor, which would carry on in production until 1971. In 1952 Morris became part of the British Motor Corporation, which was then subsumed into British Leyland. The Morris brand continued until 1984. At Haynes, we have an extensive range of Morris repair manuals and online procedures available for professional mechanics and DIY car enthusiasts alike. We can give you all the guidance you need.
