The fifth-generation Honda Accord was launched in 1993. It was wider but shorter than its predecessor, to enhance the feeling of cabin space, and could be bought in two-door coupe, four-door sedan and five-door station wagon bodystyles. The main engine in the North American Accord was a 2.2-liter four-cylinder motor, with or without the VTEC variable valve timing system. It drove the front wheels through a five-speed manual gearbox or a four-speed automatic transmission. The Accord was well equipped with disc brakes all round, allow wheels. In 1994, a 2.7-liter V6 engine appeared in the Accord, and a hot Accord SiR with a more powerful VTEC engine appeared. Haynes has an extensive range of Honda repair manuals and online maintenance procedures to suit professional mechanics and DIY car enthusiasts. Our Honda Accord repair manual will be able to help whether you're servicing or repairing your car.
