Buyer’s guide: the Mk2 Nissan Qashqai story
The Nissan Qashqai (J10) 5-door hatchback, known as a “Crossover” vehicle was first introduced in the UK in February 2007. During the course of production, various trim levels were introduced and in August 2008 the +2 version (7-seater) was launched.
In 2010 the Qashqai (J10) had a facelift, which involved some small changes to the external and internal appearance of the vehicle.
In February 2014, the Nissan Qashqai (J11), was introduced and that will be the model covered in this manual.
In 2017 the Qashqai (J11) had a mild facelift, which involved some small changes to the external and internal appearance of the vehicle.
The Haynes manual shown here covers the 1.2 litre petrol engine, being of double overhead camshaft (DOHC) 16-valve design. The engine features a multi-point fuel injection and is equipped with emissions control systems.
Also covered in this manual are the 1.5 litre and 1.6-litre diesel engines, both being of double overhead camshaft (DOHC) 16-valve design. The 1.5 litre Renault diesel engine, is of a well-proven design and has been used previously in Nissan/Renault vehicles.
Fully independent front and rear suspension units are fitted, with MacPherson strut type at the front and multi-link suspension used at the rear.
A six-speed manual transmission is fitted as standard across the range, with a six-speed automatic transmission optionally available on 1.6-litre diesel models.
A wide range of standard and optional equipment is available within the Qashqai range including central locking, electric windows, an electric sunroof, an anti-lock braking system and airbags.
